ReplyDeleteWow! This is fun! Ink and washes would be great... ah well...
ReplyDeleteYou've got some incredible work here, would love to win a class!
ReplyDeleteAugh! Just wrote a long love note to your work and generous spirit of sharing your talent with us all and how much I love opening FB to see your postings and then lost it. Grrr. Anyway, the gist was I wasn't sure 4-weeks would ever be long enough to capture even some of your painting style and technique, but sure would love to try after a long time of trying to replicate (plagiarize?? I think not) pieces from your many books! All best and thank you for your prolific and very inspiring work!
ReplyDeleteI want to start with Keeping an Artist's Journal. Nothing like starting with the final product and then moving back through the pieces used for the process.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll try again as my original message got lost in cyberspace. Thank you for your generosity. I'd love to win one of your classes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun opportunity! I would love to win a spot in one of your fabulous workshops!! Thanks :)
ReplyDeletePlease, count me in! All drawings look delicious. I would love to take Ink and Wash, but honestly, any class would be interesting. :D

ReplyDeleteAs a beginner taking my first serious steps in drawing and watercolour, I would love the chance to take one of your mini-classes. I already have and love your First Steps Sketching and Drawing book and the AJW book and I've learned a lot by watching your YouTube videos, but I am sure a more structured PDF/video-based course would be very helpful.
ReplyDeleteKate, simply saying Thank You for all you do, have done and are doing to keep art alive in so many of us. Can't ask for more than that in a teacher, an artist, and creative friend.

Thank heavens sketchbooks are private or I wouldn't have the courage for the quickies as they are now. Thanks for the opportunity Cathy.

I am sure to take your classes as time goes on :-)

ReplyDeleteI have always admired your art and would love to take the class "Keeping an Artist's Journal"!!!
ReplyDeleteI took art lessons as a child from a wonderful lady from Germany. She taught different mediums and I pursued a career in graphic design, I was fortunate to be able to attend a class at The University of Alabama taught by a well-known regional artist. My Mother was my inspiration and encouraged me. I distinctly remember her being so excited when my Dad gave her lessons from American Artist. I veered away for many years to a business career. As I approach retirement I have a longing to go back to my "roots" but I don't know where to start. I think your classes would be the perfect opportunity for me to begin again. My Mother has passed away and her paintings are my most treasured keepsakes. I still have all of her brushes, books etc. Whether I am chosen for the scholarship I would love some advice on which classes to take to begin my journey again. Sincerely, Lucille K.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of Cathy Johnson, her art, and her generosity online, through Sketchbook Skool, her Facebook Journaling book, her YouTube videos. I'm planning on taking a mini course whether I win or not! Next free weekend...

ReplyDeleteKate, thank you for your encouraging words in your recent blog about creativity and giving me the "freedom to fly," as you put it. It came at just the right time for me. I printed out the list of creativity inhibitors to keep it handy. I really enjoyed the different kinds of sketching assignments in Sketchbook Skool 2 (seeing). I especially enjoyed getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteI've admired your art and philosophy for years - have most of your books and would so enjoy taking a class from you. there is always much to learn.

What a great opportunity. I'd love to win a scholarship class. Yea! Thanks for your generous offer.
ReplyDeleteI am throwing in my hat, gloves, scarf and a dash of hope.....I admire your art and the gift you have in teaching others the benefit of expression. You have taken journaling to a whole new level. This is especially important to me as I am the caregiver of my life partner, who is losing her battle with cancer. You have been a great help in showing me how I can journal my feelings through this journey, though I am not an artist. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Give away! I Live your blOg and work! Ink & wash or quick sketching 1....but any would be awesome!. Thanks for the opportunity:)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great selection of classes. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteStay inspired!
All of these classes sound great! I think I'd have to start with the Artist Journal though!
ReplyDeleteGreat classes to choose from, exciting :-)
ReplyDeleteIf the winner is picked by NEED, then surely you will pick me! Here's why: the only thing I have EVER won in my life is a set of 24 watercolour pencils. It was at a watercolour workshop where everything else was a disaster--all the instructor was interested in was showing off! I had driven a whole day, and spent lots of money--and came away with only these pencils which he didn't even demonstrate! So, please pick me! (P.S. I have already taken your Ink&Wash and I LOVED it!)
ReplyDeleteTaking another of your classes would be such a treat!! Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLove your classes, Kate. Thanks for the chance. I have been thinking about the watercolor pencils.
