CD Giveaway!

As some of you know, we've been working to solve the problem CafePress threw in our laps the other day when they announced they'd no longer be producing CDs--our biggest seller!

SO....Joseph's been doing some prototypes to see if we can do it ourselves (we CAN!), and because we've changed something here or there on the cover or on how the files are organized since then, we're offering these prototypes as giveaways!

Here's the first offering...my first in the Elements of Landscape series, Painting and Drawing Trees, with a slideshow, PDFs, jpegs, and other goodies.

Make a comment here on the blog, and we'll pick the winner next Monday!  Free shipping, too.  (I'm putting this on Artist's Journal Workshop blog too, but we'll compile names--we won't miss you if you sign up one place or another!)

Of course this and all the other CDs are available on my website, right now.  After all these years, I'll be closing my CafePress store at the end of July, but the CDs will be available right here: http://www.cathyjohnson.info/cds.html

Who needs Cafe Press??

  1. Ooh, ooh, pick me, pick me!! As you know, I am very tree challenged! I need all the help I can get. And Kate, you are so generous to offer a free CD. So sorry to hear about the whole Cafe Press meltdown. I say "Meh" to them!

  5. Thanks, all! Lilly, they SAY it's because CDs are passe' and people are doing digital downloads. That may be part of it, but I think it was largely because they weren't able to do quality control as they once did...we had to check EVERY SINGLE ONE we ordered from them to make sure they weren't blank, and I know some people who ordered directly from CafePress got blanks. They'd replace them, but what a pain!

  7. Well you did say Joseph had been wanting to take this on for a while. It seems like something that it would be possible to do at home, especially given the quality problems you had been having. Sounds like the one door closes and another door opens adventure. Wishing you all the best in this new endeavour. :-)

  15. Just tried for 1/2 hour to post a comment with my google account...kept trying to make ma sign in??? I did post at the other site.
Awsome that Joseph could embrace the new technology and you can now make your own CD's Go Joseph!
I've done drawings of 100 hands, horses, cats and I'm working on dogs. That CD might inspire me to do 100 trees next!
Continued success to both of you!

  23. I appreciate your way of doing art because you have shown your talent in a good manner. These types of work should be shown in some fine art gallery so that you should know the real value of your art.
